I can’t imagine any consumer desiring that effect.But speaking of effects, I wish I got the lights with the remote!!!! So I could use a timer…I got these to hang up Christmas cards in a festive way. When I first put batteries in, they were very bright, but it starts to dim as the battery gets used up. I haven't turned them on every day, so I can't speak to how long batteries last in them. We hung and turned these on the weekend after Thanksgiving and I think we'll probably have to replace the batteries (AA) before the Christmas season is over, which is fine. They are festivity to our house. Would be nice for a teenager's room or dorm room, but you'll have to replace the batteries frequently if you turn them on all the time.I don't like the blinking setting. With the brightness and speed of the blinking (plus, all the lights blink in unison), it's a bit aggressive instead of a pretty twinkle. I wish the lights blinked separately so it was more of a twinkle effect.I had been looking for these in store for WEEKS before I finally decided to look online. I'm not sure why I didn't look sooner! These are super cute, easy to install (literally open the box and unravel), and upgrade any space. I have this in my office with inspirational quotes, but it could be used on walls for photos and even holiday cards.Perfect gift for our granddaughter. She absolutely loved it. Couldn't wait to put it up in her bedroom.I purchased these for Christmas and was very happy with my purchase. I’ve always struggled with a creative way to display Christmas cards and this item solved my problem. I recommend them.This was a great, fun way to hang our Christmas Cards this year. However, I don't know if I got a faulty one but after we put batteries in it it was really nice and bright, but by the next day the lights were really dim. I thought I had put in bad batteries so I put in brand new ones and once again it was really bright, but by the next day they were really dim again. So I don't know if it just really burns through the batteries or something is wrong with my strand. I would it just plugged into a power outlet, instead of a battery pack.Update: After I left a review I heard from the seller and they quickly sent me a new strand of lights. Really appreciate the customer service and the new set which work work. Only reason I'm not giving this item 5 stars is because of the batteries you have to go through to keep this on regularly. Really wish it was a plug in. But still really pretty
